Allied Filter Systems PV Installation

  • 77 kWp Total PV Capacity

  • 3.7p per kWh over 25 years Equivalent fixed electricity costs

Customer Needs

Allied Filter Systems, a leading manufacturer and supplier of filtration systems and consumables, wanted to transition towards renewable energy to meet environmental goals and reduce energy costs. The key drivers behind the project included:

  • The need to lower the reliance on traditional energy sources, thus reducing CO2 emissions.

  • A desire to minimize rising electricity costs for buildings.

The Solution Delivered by Centreco

Through a successful partnership with Centreco, Allied Filter Systems has taken substantial steps toward becoming more sustainable:

  • Photovoltaic Installations: A 77kW tier one system was installed across the manufacturing facility. These systems contribute significantly to the clean energy supply.

  • Energy Efficiency and Savings: Allied Filter Systems is now able to benefit from equivalent fixed electricity costs of 3.7p per kWh projected over the next 25 years. This offers Allied Filter Systems a substantial saving against grid-supplied electricity rates that are currently available and provides protection from longer term inflationary pressures on energy costs.

“Centreco did originally approach us a few years back looking to provide us with a solar energy installation, but at the time, we felt we had other business priorities and, in our eyes, whilst we could understand the benefits, we felt that we had to prioritise other long-term investments. Given the current energy crisis, and ever-increasing environmental awareness within supply chains, we knew we had to explore solar again, and honestly, I wish we had done it sooner. When we looked at the figures, we were taken aback by the payback period, perspective savings and in my eyes, it did just make more sense than ever before.”
— Dan Thompson, Managing Director of Allied Filter Systems
